Reviews
Innovative menu, nice service, great view of the river and marinas.
Rustic. I would not call it romantic, but a fun place. Bar with TV. A little off the front street area. You can watch the kitchen prepare meals.
We would go back to see how dinner is.
My first time there so I'm reserving all of my thoughts until I've been there a few more times. Which I definitely intend to do. Everyone there was a thoughtful, helpful, friendly, I've been looking for a place where I would feel comfortable going by myself and they made me feel that welcome. Food was well-cooked; even though there's a somewhat limited menu on Sunday there was plenty of variety for any taste and I can't wait to try more things there. Oh and I can personally recommend the espresso martini!
The burger was awesome. The atmosphere was the best. I fell in love with this place. My only complaint is the same problem that I have with most of the restaurants on Front Street in Georgetown, SC, they don’t serve fresh local shrimp. That night I spoke to them about buying a box of fresh shrimp & they were all for it but when I returned the next day with a box of shrimp they didn’t buy it. Said they don’t use shrimp with the peeling on them very much. I was absolutely shocked that a chef would say this. All you have to do is throw them shrimp in a pan, sprinkle lemon juice, peel them, and take a sharp knife & split them down the middle to the tail. Bam you are done.
I’m going back down their this week to talk to them some more because I really love the restaurant & I don’t want to give up on them.
It is shocking to me that the restaurants on Front Street don’t support the local shrimpers. Those restaurants depend on the Harbor to draw tourists to Front Street. Due to the Harbor closing In because of Erosion Control the only thing keeping it open is the shrimp boats coming in and put of harbor. Once they have all gone (which will be very soon) the Harbor will close in. No one wants to go to a Harbor town that has no Harbor. I bet you at that point the restaurants will be kicking themselves for not supporting the local fisherman. Georgetown can’t afford to Dredge & since our port no longer has a working need the Army Corps of Engineers is not going to dredge. They have Charleston & dont need our port anymore. 10 years ago you could run a shrimp boat all the way around the island. You can’t even run a small boat around it now. It is sad because when you think of Georgetown town you think of shrimp boats. Soon there will be no shrimp boats. If everyone would have done their part to support the local fisherman things could have been different.
Fantastic lunch to celebrate our anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed the view of the water.
Bartender knows how to make some amazing beverages.
The collards were the best that I ever tasted.
Enjoyed the brisket sandwich with the illegal cream corn
Can’t wait to go back again!
Can’t say enough great things about Between the Antlers. We attended a poetry reading that brought in a packed house tonight, and it was such a great atmosphere to be in! Food and drinks are delicious! Our table ordered a little bit of everything, and ate dinner family style, and every bite was loaded with southern flair. Run, don’t walk, to this restaurant for your next meal!
We stopped in for lunch and had she crab soup and a blackened grouper sandwich. My husband also enjoyed a side of collard greens. We enjoyed this meal with a lovely white French Bordeaux. We were surprised and never expected to find such a wonderful wine list. The Sun was shining and we sat outside overlooking the harbor complete with yachts and fishing boats. Maggie our server took care of us and we also have the opportunity to speak with the owner. Couldn't have been better.
Great atmosphere and food! Had a variety of menu items. Started with the pimento cheese, hummus and illegal oysters. All were excellent! Especially the illegal oysters. The table had chicken bog, crab cakes, fried shrimp , fried flounder and burgers. Everyone enjoyed their dish. The crab cakes were fantastic. The fried shrimp were huge and you get a large portion. The atmosphere was great by the water and they had live music as well as bars inside and outside. They have large outside covered eating area as well as inside eating area. They do take reservations for parties of ten or more. While we were eating the owner brought around a plate of homemade pork skins. Parking is along the street. Their menu is on their website and they do have daily specials. Well worth the drive if you are staying south of Myrtle Beach!
We really enjoyed our time at Between the Antlers. We came in the afternoon and enjoyed beverages and appitizers. The crab cakes are delicious! We enjoyed them so much, we placed a second order. They are seasoned perfectly and the fried green tomatoes were amazing. Compliments to the chef! Next we had the she crab soup...the best we have had. So much crab and the perfect texture and creaminess. Finally we had the wedge salad...that blue cheese dressing needs to be bottled and sold...so, so yummy! The location is great and the staff are all so friendly. Overall great dining experience!
